Clan rules:

Although mrk* will be a rather competitive clan,  we ask that all members act appropriate and with maturity. No offensive actions against existing members will be tolerated.  Any member who violates this rule will be instantly banned.

Joining the clan is as easy as sending me a message @EugenesAXE or send a friend request, but be sure to add that you would like to join the clan.

Situational Awareness will be frowned upon. Not to members as they can use boosters as they so choose, but there may be negative things said towards opponents using it..

Absolutely NO GLITCHING during competitive matches, unless it has been determined ahead of time that it is allowed. Anyone caught glitching during a match can and will be subject to banishment.

All new members from now on, MUST have a positive Kill to Death ratio.  This means anything 1.0 or higher. NO EXCEPTIONS.  The higher, the better.

Tournament rules:

There will be private tournaments held with current members of the clan.  This includes tournaments against current members, and also tournaments against other clans.

There will eventually be tiers of difficulty setup for the tournaments based on Kill to Death ratio.  If you would like to be put in a higher tier, that can be arranged.  However you cannot join a lower tier.

Tournaments will be considered a best out of 3 situation.  The team that wins best out of 3, wins the bracket.  Level selections work like this:  The first level will always be The Temple.  After that, the losing team decides the next level.  The loser of that match will determine the next match's level.  The original match map can be changed if both teams reach a consensus.  Likewise, the gametype can be changed if there is a consensus between the group, otherwise it will always be Deathmatch unless otherwise determined.

Most tournaments will be considered double elimination.  If you are unfamiliar with this tournament style, it is when the losing team is entered into a new tournament bracket.  All losing teams of the first round will be entered into a second tournament bracket to compete.

All tournaments will be set to a specific time.  If a member misses this time of entry, they will automatically be considered forfeit and the opponent will move up the bracket.

Tournaments will always be No Power Weapons, unless it is determined by both sides that they are allowed.  This is just an attempt to level the playing field.      Amount of kills will be determined by what style of tournament it is (meaning 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, or 3 vs. 3..)

The Situational Awareness Booster is not allowed to be used during tournaments.  Most tournaments will probably be a 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 which creates too much of edge for the user.  Also, I don’t want to have to make people use evasion to take up a booster slot.

The Championship matches will be a best out of 5.  Maps will remain the same style (starts with Temple, loser chooses next one).  All other rules will still apply.

Any questions about how this works can be answered once these tournaments take place.

All results of tournaments that take place will be posted onto this webpage for all to see.

Before entering your poll results, please note that the more members per team, the less overall teams there will be.  As much as I'd love to have them always be 5 vs. 5, i don't know how possible it will be for a while..

Multiplayer Tips:

As suggested to me by ElFlacoxx5, I thought It would be a good idea to start a multiplayer tips section.  Any tips you think should be added, post in the website tips thread please.  Thanks for any help everyone.

    1.    Always be aware of your surroundings.  For me, this means you should constantly be turning your head (Right stick).  Be sure to watch your back and basically be circling your field of vision constantly.  Switching from looking forward to looking behind you, and everything in between.

Nows this requires a bit of skill because you will also have to figure out how to work the left stick to walk the opposite direction your looking.  This means if you are trying to look behind you, you should be holding the left stick downwards.  It’s a technique anyone should get used to if they want to begin to get positive kill to death ratio.  Otherwise you are going to be getting killed from behind and the sides constantly.

    2.    Along with learning how to walk while watching your surroundings, you should also always keep your ears out for opponents.  This requires paying attention to what team you are, be it Villians or Heroes.  If you are Heroes, you should keep your ears out for villains voices like Eddy Raja or Zoran Lazaravic, Like wise if you are Villians you should keep your ears out for Drakes or Elenas.  Note that not all skins make noises so sometimes people can sneak up on you with no possibility of knowing.

    3.    Learning how to aim is obviously very important.  If it helps, maybe you could adjust your sensitivity in the options to lower or higher, depending on which works best for you.  A booster that can help with this is Down the Irons.  I would not rely on it, but if you are having problems learning, you could try using it for a while to get it figured out.  Then you can move on to bigger and better boosters, or stick with it as it will always be a very useful booster.

    4.    Heavy weapons are your friend.  Some consider it to be cheap, but if Naughty Dog felt this way, they wouldn’t include them into the game.  Even if you don’t know how to use them, USE THEM as that is the only way you are going to learn.  The RPG is a one shot kill, as long as you get within close enough distance.  Hammer M32 is two shot kill, no matter if you get a direct hit or with in a close distance.  This is why it comes with more ammunition.

    5.    This may be frowned upon, but if you are unsure of how to play, take it slow.  Some may conside this to be camping, but that is not what I am implying.  Just take cover, observe your surroundings.  Then move onto the next cover and repeat.  I DO NOT recommend you stay in one place too long as someone is bound to sneak up on you and kill you before you ever knew they were there.

To go along with this tip, I will suggest that as soon as you kill the person or persons you were aiming for, you move on.  If you try to stay in the same area, they could spawn rather close and close in on you before you know it.

    6.    Don't worry so much about your kill to death ratios.  I’ve noticed that all this causes is frustration for people, which can cause them to cheat or get cheap kills.  This takes away from others experiences which should not be the priority to gaming.

    7.    There is a technique you can learn that I like to call Fleet Foot, only because it works better with the Fleet Foot booster selected.  This technique can be done by moving left to right while aiming.  This can be rather difficult to adjust to, but is very effective once you can master it.  As I said before, it is much more effective if you have the Fleet Foot booster on.

    8.    This technique can be rather useful, but is not always possible.  If you notice the enemy while peering around a corner, or right as you walk around it, use the corner to your advantage.  You can use the above technique and mix it with this one.  If the corner is to your left, you move right to get a few bullets off.  Then move back left for cover and repeat until the enemy has died.  Vice Versa if the corner is to your right.

I find that I use this technique quite a lot and it is very effective.  The key is to know your surroundings and to get to know the maps rather well so you know what you can use for cover.

    9.    If an enemy is running at you while you are in cover, don’t be afraid to use blindfire while the run at you.  This is another technique that you will get used to over time and get better.  I wouldn’t recommend ever using the blind fire booster because it can be a crutch and it isn’t a very useful booster when there are so many other good boosters you can use in that slot.

    10.    A good way to avoid taking heavy damage is to constantly jump around instead of just walking.  You’ll notice people using this technique quite a lot.  It is rather useful.  You should learn to use a zig zag pattern to make it the most effective.

If you are being shot at, sometimes it’s better to just start jumping toward cover instead of trying to fire back.  This may end up getting you killed, but chances are if they were firing first, they would win the battle anyways.

    11.  I have to give This tip, even though the game does also on the loading screen sometimes for competitive matches, because too many times I see someone standing still trying to aim the arc which is a "sitting duck".  For a more precise grenade placement, you should hold L1 as if you were aiming your gun, and then you can tap L2 and it will toss the grenade where your reticle is pointed.  This can be a much less obvious way of using the grenade.  It’s also much easier to get thrown before getting shot to pieces.

       BOOSTER TIPS

    *    Grenade Expert – This booster allows you to carry three grenades at one time.  This can be useful in certain situations.  Times I would recommend this booster for are elimination matches, and any capture the territory game types (King of the Hill, Chain Reaction).  Grenades are always useful to throw into the territory to get multiple kills.

    *    Bandoleer – I believe this booster allows you to pick up more ammo if you are already handling the weapon.  I’ll be honest and say I’ve never used this booster, but only because I tend to use negatives for the money.  This can be rather useful if you don’t have the option.  It depends if you tend to depend on one certain weapon, or if you’re capable of switching it up with no problem.  If you can use a variety of weapons, I wouldn’t suggest this booster.

    *    Keep Firing – This booster can be used to allow your clips to hold more bullets at one time.  This booster is mainly a beginner booster.  By the time you get the hang of the game, you should no longer require this booster as it only takes about a quarter to a third of a clip to get a kill.  Certain situations may require you use it, but I’ll allow you to make that judgement as it isn’t a booster I ever use.

    *    Down the Irons – Down the Irons is a very useful booster, but can definitely be overused.  In my opinion, this booster is solely for beginners to learn how to shoot more accurately.  I won’t lie and say I never use it, but when I do, it is just the few matches of the day to help “warm up” then I will switch to Glass Jaw.

    *    Sure Foot – Sure Foot was a booster I used for the longest time and is a rather helpful booster in my opinion because it can get you out of quite a few kills if used correctly.  At the same time, once you get to know the game a little more, and can judge where the grenade is going to land, Sure Foot isn’t completely necessary because you can learn to jump from the blast radius.  A tip if you are NOT using Sure Foot is to learn to quickly toss down a grenade if someone is coming to melee you and you exit the animation on time.

    *    Rapid Hands – Rapid Hands is an awesome booster.  One reason is because I am constantly reloading, even if I’ve only shot 6-8 bullets.  This booster is one I will definitely be using once I reach level 80.  A hint once you get to a high enough level is to use Half Loaded (negative booster) with rapid hands.  That way if you don’t finish the enemy on the first clip, you can reload much faster to finish them off.

    *    Deposit – Deposit can be a tricky booster that not a lot of people understand.  A lot of people seem to believe this booster can be used in Deathmatches which is not true. You can use it, but it will not have any effect on your amount of money made.  This booster is for objective game types only.  These include:

King of the Hill – Expantionist *capture 5 territories* (10,000$)

Chain Reaction – Expantionist *capture 5 territories* (10,000$)

Plunder – Captured the treasure (8,000$)

I believe that is all but I will check soon. (if you know of any more medals of game types, please let me know)

    *    (-) From the Hip (5,000$) – I can’t remember how much money you get for this one so I will have to check later, but for now I am guessing 5,000$.  This is a good negative to use once you have the opportunity as it will throw you a little bit of extra cash every 5 kills.  Note this booster will remove the blindfire reticles.

    *    (-) Glass Jaw (10,000$) – If you are concerned with leveling up, this is definitely the negative booster to use.  The funny thing about this booster is, a lot of people forget you have it on, so they will blindfire and melee anyways.  This gives you the opportunity to either drop a quick grenade, or blindfire and melee back.  At all costs you should always try to avoid people running at you with this booster on by aiming and walking against the way they are running.   Note that the money value is awarded every 5 kills.

    *    (-) Come Get Some (25,000$) – This can be a rather risky booster to use as it allows people to see where you are through walls.  What comes with this risk is quite a bit of cash though.  I can say it is rather funny to use this booster against situational awareness users.  When using the booster, it is important to remember it is, and not to go for pull downs unless it is a quick one.  Don’t try to rest on the ledge and wait for someone.. but if you have the opportunity, go for it.  Also remember going around corners there may be someone waiting to shoot you down.  This is where the bunning hopping technique can be useful.  Right as you get to the edge of the corner, start to jump so they are unable to shoot you as easily.  Note that the money value is awarded every 5 kills.

    *    (-) Invalid (20,000$) – I don’t know anything about this booster as I have never used it.  I do not recommend this booster one bit.  Just stay away in my opinion.  Stick with Glass Jaw over this booster.  The only thing I can suggest you do with this booster is find a spot and stay there to kill your enemies.  This is generally frowned upon isn't something I'll do which is why I've never used the booster.  Note that the money value is awarded every 5 kills.

If anyone has any tips/boosters to add or ideas for me, please let me know!

That is all I have for now.  I hope this helps anyone that is having troubles with the multiplayer part of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Enjoy!
